Lakers
The Los Angeles Lakers first became a team after the Detroit Gems lost all funding after losing almost all of their games the previous season. They were bought by a man who moved them to Minneapolis. They changed their name to the Lakers, because they were located in the Land of 10,000 lakes. Once they joined the NBA, they got several first-round draft picks. They went on to win five of the first six NBA titles. Eventually, they began to sink. They had a very poor season after they lost some of their greatest players. They continued to do poorly and lost funding. They moved to LA. They brought in a new crew of super-stars and won more titles. This process continued on and on. From Jerry West, to Wilt Chamberlain, to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, to Magic Johnson, to Shaq, to Kobe, to Dwight Howard and Steve Nash. The Lakers are known for getting the greats of the NBA. The Lakers have been to the NBA Finals thirty-one times. They have sixteen NBA Title wins. The Celtics are the only team that has won more championships than the Lakers. The Celtics have seventeen championship wins. The Lakers are the favored team to win the Western Conference this season and very well may be on their way to another title, and a sixth ring for Kobe, which will match him in rings with the greatest palyer ever, Michael Jordan.
